Yep it’s that time of year again! Entries are due to close soon for the 2010 New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards. The official closing date is 24 December 2009.
The NZDIAs are the only nationwide acknowledgement of excellence in the dairy industry and a key sponsorship for Westpac Agribusiness. Our team are heavily involved on a regional judging basis and also at the regional Fieldays.
Criteria for entries
Sharemilkers
The New Zealand Sharemilker of the Year competition is open to:
1. Percentage Sharemilkers
2. Dairy Farm Managers who own over 25% and up to 50% of the business they are employed in
3. Contract Milkers who own over 25% and up to 50% of the business in which they hold the Contract Milking agreement.
Farm Managers
The New Zealand Farm Manager of the Year competition is open to:
1. Dairy Farm Managers - Dairy Farm Managers may own up to 25% of the business in which they hold the Farm Manager employment agreement.
2. Contract Milkers - Contract Milkers may own up to 25% of the business in which they hold the Contract Milking agreement.
Dairy Trainees
Entry into the Dairy Trainee of the Year is open to anyone who fits the following criteria:
1. Currently employed on a dairy farm
2. 18 years or older as at 31 December 2009
3. A New Zealand citizen or New Zealand resident as at 31 December 2009
4. Within their first four years of employment on a dairy farm as at 1 June 2010
5. Currently enrolled towards achieving or has completed within the last two years, a National Certificate of Agriculture Level 4 (Dairy) or higher OR completes a nomination form from their current employer.
